About The Artwork
For the last few years I have been doing a series of paintings and monotypes (Terra Infirma) that are homages to environmentally-challenged regions of the planet. This piece is one of a series inspired by the damaged coral of the Great Barrier Reef, that sends out a final distress signal by turning brilliant colors—blue, yellow and magenta—before crumbling. As an artist inspired by nature, it seems imperative to me to use my abilities to inform and communicate these issues.
