This majestic mesquite tree reaches towards the bright blue sky with its freshly grown for spring pale green leaf blades, its twisty brown trunk capturing the image of the golden midday sun just below its crook. The tree has been through a lot in its long life, seeing some limbs break in strong windstorms, and ritualistically losing most leaves in the winter only to regrow with grandeur and grace in the spring. The mesquite in this image has never faltered or failed in its time here and continues to stand strong against the elements, all the while embracing the brilliant sunshine that radiates onto it and gives it life and warmth.
