About The Artwork
For years I drove past these huge machines which had been abandoned near the lake visable from the high way. Huge behemoths towering above the landscape. The massive lake now a nature reserve dug out by these machines to supply coal to the power station. I had to photograph them. having a background as an industrial photographer and having won many awards it was not difficult to obtain permission and be given a guided tour for the day. Despite the snow and freezing conditions the day was a success. The shot are taken in Galicia, northern Spain.
