My architect once showed me the photo of her granddaughter which I painted and emailed image to her. That was back in june. Two days ago she started talking about "how she really wants to have one of my paintings". I mentioned that I did paint her little girl from one of the photos she shared with me in text message. She was completely dumbfounded, apparently she missed that message and never saw it. So finally she saw it, loved it and I packed it to ship to her. While packing I noticed that plywood had some interesting texture and pattern on it. So I went ahead and did a quick 30 minutes sketch of this lady with her dog on a packaging plywood. I imagine what she would think as she unpacks her granddaughter's portrait and discovers her own portrait painted on packaging plywood inside..... (it's tempera on some 1/8" plywood)
