Three Cars – Run DMC Print

This is the corner of East 12th Street and Avenue A in the East Village, where Eduardo Kobra’s Run DMC mural has been dominating the scene since 2018. It’s a gray afternoon in early spring, a perfect match for the black and white image in the mural. Also, the two additional white cars in the street link the mural to its surroundings, giving us the “three cars” in the title. Interpreting the mural, I used the original reference photograph and made some other changes, big and small. As you can see, the mural has been tagged over time, but it does not detract from its power.
