Sunset Cliff Print

For 15 years I've learned about the laws of nature, one of the knowledge chapters is Vastu Shastra - science of architecture, a system describing correlation between sky halves and location of a space, in which there is interior item positioning as well. I have been handing this course to others too, but my long dream was to paint high mountains, like a compelling ridge for the wall of South/West, as these are two sides to be closed in maximum, heavy, high and thick. Along with the sunset in the West – can it be more beautiful? My inspiration for this work I took from an old red leather-covered photo-card album of my grandparents with historical urban and rural landscapes, a lot of where shapes are changed now. An excerpt of Amata Cliff, pictured in the painting, is a real place from the neighbourhood of my grandparents' house in the district of Cēsis, parish of Amata, near the Amata River, Latvia. Sunset tonal solutions arose from my imagination and memories I learned during my travels around Caribbean, it's so glamorous and expressive. In a combination of cool nature of the North where my country is located, hot from the South, I have created my perfect guard. Only to mention the East, up and down, and all 6 sides of the sky would be represented, but that is for another story. Oil on canvas. I have long time collaboration with a well-known, excellent master for wood subframes, I stretch linen canvas and do priming myself, thus the work is filled with love and energy in full. Few times in my artist path I have tried to paint on ready made canvas and concluded it is unsatisfactory, - either because of the priming or the thickness of wood subframe, overall feeling brings me back to my hand mastery. I do see the new owner of the Cliff as myself - always to go for a total gratification and if something is not sufficient, you change it. This work inspires for that as well, I am sure, such a powerful and strong energy in this. Cliff is hard and high, it even physically surrounds you with the stability, likewise sky in the magic of sunset always sparkles this miracle in the life - everything is possible. New day always comes for that. I have a mastery in tonal composition, my specialisation is modern realism.
