About The Artwork

I like this ink painting technique. It reminds me of the art of Japanese calligraphy, in which every stroke, the direction of the ending, the balance between the individual elements matters. In addition, each calligrapher projects his own rhythm, emotions, aesthetics, beauty, spirituality, his character. This painting is primarily an intuitive experience, a spontaneous expression that requires a certain state of concentration and calm observation. The mind ceases to focus primarily on painting as such and enters a state of connection, merging with the observed, from which it is torn out by a flash of sudden awareness, which then lets the hand freely record with a brush on paper. It is just a fleeting experience that is not associated with insight into real reality. Each stroke, line, dot, ending is determined by the state of mind and emotions that the observation evoked. Despite, or on the contrary, precisely due to unpredictable, unexpected and unplanned moves, it is in the end somehow complete….

Martina comes from Slovakia, but has lived and worked in Brno, Czech Republic since 1989. She graduated in phytotechnics (Ing.), animal nutrition (Ph.D.), and worked as a researcher for many years. At the age of 47, she decided to end her scientific career and devote herself more to creative work. Since 2020 she has been working as an interior designer. She perceives her current profession as one of the forms of her artistic creation, a way to apply her aesthetic opinion. She has been drawing and painting since childhood. After graduating from university and at the later age, she attended evening figural drawing courses, which had a major impact on her creative approach. Since 2018, she has shared the art studio with a group of artists. In recent years, she has devoted herself to abstract painting. Her work is emotional, guided by an inner voice, naturally, quietly. It develops in multiple positions (abstract, expressive, figurative), but the visual language remains the same. Her paintings look intuitive, feminine, gentle. She paints on canvases of larger dimensions, which give her space for free gestural action. It can be some expressive brush strokes, but also a slight but contentually strong line, which indicates a certain tendency to something more essential, raw, minimal. Her works are represented in several private collections. http://martinatrckova.artsy.cz/ https://www.instagram.com/m.art.tina/?hl=cs
