About The Artwork
I was inspired to paint this landscape from a photograph a colleague made in Norway. I very much liked how the image reflected the season, which was winter. I wanted to translate the cold atmosphere into the painting, with a traditional landscape but with some expressionist touch like the background. Usually I paint human figures, so in this occasion I wanted to move from my usual themes and dive into something different.
