About The Artwork
I painted this figure for a competition. There was a new building complex in Maryland called The Enclave, and they wanted to have an art show for inaugurating the building. The theme was Enclave. I thought, what could be more symbolic of an enclave than a woman. I am always fascinated by the interaction of words with visuals, so I decided to incorporate the letter E in as many ways as possible on my figure. The piece was selected for the show, but the nudity of the figure was I am sure, cause for embarrassment; Miss Enclavia was hung behind a door and kind of invisible unless one was persistent.
