About The Artwork

Mirror is an Abstract Multi-Media work on paper. Using images evoking a past overlaid with a layer of blue paint the shape of which may suggest water to the viewer. The impression is looking through one surface to another beyond. At the same time the viewer could be looking at a body of water with reflections, or an old and antique glass mirror with many different levels of patination. The reflective quality of water has always attracted. The ancient Briton's believed that water was a connection to the world beyond. Many offerings of objects precious to them were dropped into bodies of water on behalf of, or possibly to connect with their ancestors and gods.

Self taught he has Painted, Illustrated, worked outside of Art, been to Art Schools ( long ago and far away, -the first one had a large library with a great section on Painting ( and most other things ) where he spent many entranced hours, did much life drawing and (more) Art History. At the second school he studied graphics. After a time as an Illustrator he changed direction. Art History says that some Artists left Financial Services in order to to take up their work as Artists. He follows this trend with a slight twist of his own.. He has painted in many 'styles' over time and sold off and online. Painting was what he loved doing as a child, as a school boy and as an adult. " I still have that 'thing' that makes me want to paint". .......
