Nigeria
Special and exquisite Olaniyi Timothy (b2003), hailing from the western part of Nigeria, specifically Oyo in Oyo State, discovered his passion for art at a young age, inspired by his talented elder sister who was an artist. Observing her creative process sparked a deep connection to the world of art, leading him to refine his skills through dedicated practice. In his pursuit of artistic education, Olaniyi apprenticed under A renowned artist in his town, where he acquired foundational techniques and a strong base to develop his unique style. Currently a student at Obafemi Awolowo University studying Fine and Applied Art, he continues to enhance his artistic abilities. Working primarily with acrylic on canvas, Olaniyi utilizes impasto realism in his portraiture to capture the depth and resilience of African skin in the face of adversity. This thematic focus on resilience and strength is central to his artwork. Inspired by scripture, Olaniyi's art conveys messages of hope, inspiration, and reflection, aiming to instill empowerment and encourage viewers to see themselves in a divine light, motivating them to pursue a brighter future. Passionate about using art as a storytelling medium to connect with others on a deeper level, Olaniyi hopes that his art resonates with individuals as a source of inspiration and empowerment. Striving to create visually captivating art with profound messages, Olaniyi's work is suitable for art galleries and collectors seeking pieces that are both aesthetically striking and emotionally resonant.
