About The Artwork
I painted this small oil painting from our trip to the botanical gardens in Kyoto, Japan. They have a beautiful Japanese Garden there. I kept this painting expressionistic to convey the excitement I felt being there. Quietness yes, but there is also a lot of energy in a Japanese garden. Inspiration comes from Nolde, Bonnard, Klimt and other painters of nature. This painting is hand gesso and hand stretched by myself.
