Alexander Levich, “Crossroads”, 2013 Oil on canvas, 100 x 200 cm (39.4 x 78.8 in) This large-scale urban landscape painting titled “Crossroads” symbolizes moments in our lives when we face important decisions, a moments of our life choices. It is never easy and grey colors of the sky and low horizon line only increase the tension. So, what will you choose? To stay where you are? To turn back? Or maybe you will boldly move ahead, cross the tracks and head into the unknown dark passage between the trees? The barrier is open and there is even a bright spot of light in the sky above the passage, giving you some hope and optimism. Or maybe you choose to hop on to the passing train and head in absolutely different direction? Whatever are the circumstances, the choice is always yours!

What is the most important thing in life? It's not the external surroundings but our inner world. Painting serves as the key that unlocks this realm. By following this path, one learns not just to look, but to truly SEE. Through my art, I delve into profound content. Painting becomes a medium of communication, a canvas for thoughts. The questions are always deeper than the answers, and the answers are discoveries we make within ourselves. My paintings serve as guides, leading you along the pathways of your own thoughts. I aim to offer you the joy of connecting with your inner world, the luxury of harmony and solitude in communication with yourself. I was born in 1963 in Kyiv, Ukraine, and in 1987, I graduated from the painting faculty of the Kyiv Art Academy, under the guidance of Professor A.M. Lopukhov. Since 1990, I have been a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. As a professional artist with over 30 years of experience, my artistic journey can be divided into two main periods. The first period, which spanned over 20 years after my graduation, can be described as "Metarealism." The second period, which I refer to as my "return to realism," began around 2010, you may explore my artworks from both periods showcased here. If you would like to delve deeper into my portfolio, view additional paintings beyond those displayed on this website, or if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me directly via email at a.levich@protonmail.com. You are also warmly welcome to visit my studio in Kyiv. Thank you sincerely for your interest.
