About The Artwork
This is an original painting which I created after seeing the "new" Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia, PA . As everyone knows the Barnes Foundation was moved from Merion, PA to Center City Philadelphia despite the fact that Dr. Barnes stipulated in his will that his collection was never to be moved. Lots of chaos at the new location. This is an original mixed media painting on watercolor paper ( 140 lb cold press). I have used antique Japanese watercolor, pen,ink and crayon. Unframed. Will be mailed in a large padded envelope with mandatory insurance and tracking.

Born USA. I started making art at the age of 21. I was admitted on the spot to the San Francisco Art Institute upon showing the Dean of Admissions my portfolio of Thurberesque Drawings with funny captions. Much of my artistic inspiration from my flea market finds ( vintage & rare ephemera), my huge unusual vintage, children's book collection, dance & burlesque performances, icons, symbols and images from all kinds of religions and my exploration into personal relationships. Although I have a distinctive style, I have explored many mediums- collage, painting, drawing, print making & fabric design, digital art. Some of my work is pretty and decorative but I also create ugly & raw paintings. These self therapy paintings are meant to be ugly and humourous . Kitsch, fashion, phtography, film, Children's art, German expressionism, Matisse, Dufy, Nolde, Redon as well as unknown outsider & folk+ art brut artists are have contributed to my style.
