About The Artwork
"Azza" is an oil painting inspired by "the Dictionary of Angels" and by John Milton's famous book "Paradise Lost". Aiming to resemble a fresco ceiling painting, it colors depict a cloudy sky, while being created from scattered fragments of bursted diamonds; encapsulating famous chanel logo's. Azza is depicted as a beautiful woman model in Dolce Gabanna clothing, falling from the sky, accompanied by the airy spirit like doves. Ancient literature tells us : Azza is a fallen angel whose name means “the strong.” Who is according to rabbinic tradition suspended between heaven and earth.... Azza is said to be constantly falling with one eye shut and one eye open so (s)he can see his plight and suffer the more. Fascinating !

Coming from a long line of visual artists and graphic designers, as well as poets and Arts Teachers, I myself went working in pre-press design, graphic design and finally took a chance to study Fine Arts. I earned my Bachelor as well as my Masters of Fine Arts in Germany, at the renown State Academy for fine Arts in Karlsruhe. Where I worked with internationally well known artists like Franz Ackermann (who was my mentor when I was his Master Student) Antje Majevski, Andreas Slominski, Simone Wester Winter, Gerd van Dülmen and Horst Antes. While working as a professional artist in Loss Angeles, I also teach kids and teens Fine Arts Classes at my studio.
