About The Artwork

1 of 67 paintings in Anthony D Padgett's "A Year With Vincent" book available on Amazon. 3. Vincent developed his painting skills in Paris. He socialised with other painters and Absinthe was a favoured drink. Absinthe was a popular drink with artists in Paris. It is 70% alcohol and was watered down. It has an aniseed flavour and goes green when mixed with water. Vincent’s painting is from inside a Parisian café whereas I am drinking mine in the lounge of my partner’s house in Hutton. The carafe and the vibrant green liquid in the glass are created with simple marks and there are purple complimentary colours on the floor. I don’t know many artists nor go out drinking much, just share a bottle of wine with my partner once a week whilst in the garden, admiring the view over agricultural fields,or indoors watching television.
