The sight of the horizon, looking toward Ireland from a Welsh coastal path, is breathtaking. All the time. Every day. Glass has been my material of choice for many years. I love the response of glass to light: its sharpness and smoothness delights me. This mixed-media work exploits these characteristics and applies them in paint and ink, creating a multi-coloured mosaic of imagined glass. The work seems fractured and broken, yet it's alive with colour and life. This work was Inspired by the simplest of seascapes... a heart-warming emptiness. This is an original work digitally painted and printed on canvas, stretched on a frame.

Tony Roberts was born in Kent in 1946. His professional career as an artist started early, working with pen and brush as a young monk. Now, in retirement and long out of monastic life, his artistic practice has greatly expanded, including glass sculptures and canvas works in private and public collections worldwide, mostly to commission. Much of his current work involves multiple disciplines and media in each single work.
