The tree theme allows me to reach out to the people with my techniques, about the frailty of our planet and the cruelty of deforestation. It excites them to the plight of our shared environment and the need for its protection., I draw with the same mind as I do with my engraving studies. I like to invent my own methods. A few of my techniques took up to 20 years to perfect. My mylar method offers fantastic possibilities to work the front and back supports, and allows the layers to be seen transparently. It results in a profound way where different techniques can mix together and yet retain its separate identity. The result fixes the acrylic, ink and oil on the pastel and magnifies it."
