Score #5 Print

I found some vintage sheet music in a charity shop, it was being sold off very cheaply as the books had been broken up. The music was stored in the studio for some years until I came across them and used them as a surface for making drawings. I used paint flow, thinking of how music ebbs and flows. I drew on them after the paint was dry. I enjoyed the idea that the notations were quite a formal structure which showed through the ebb and flow of the paint. It felt as if the paint was in harmony with the idea of music. Many of the paintings I was working on were really large, these drawings were a counterbalance to those. While even the large paintings can be intimate, the size of these drawings were a counter balance to the larger work I was doing.
