I am fascinated with the human mind and how it grows and develops with situations we create or that are created for us. I am influenced by shape, texture and light, artificial and natural. Open spaces and dark corners, nature and manmade creations. My paintings exist because of the world I’m surrounded by. Everywhere I go there is always something that catches my eye and begins a trail of thought.
I layer my thoughts and feelings onto my paintings, sometimes parts remain other times they are hidden but they are still there, like lessons we learn or situations we’ve dealt with. We take something from them every time.
When I stand in front of a blank piece, one by one I can begin to translate my thoughts and feelings into visual facts.
I express what I can’t say, what I don’t know. My mind goes off and it begins to make its mark.
