The Transition Painting

Cherie Grist is a contemporary Abstract Expressionist Artist exploring her place in the world through multi-coloured, geometric, abstract expressionist strokes. Each canvas is a sanctuary where she can hide away from the complexities of modern day life and explore a calmer more peaceful world. She sees all her paintings as self-portraits and her process is automatic from the paint used to the method in which she applies her marks ​ Cherie has been longlisted for the John Moore’s Contemporary Painting Prize, the Cass Art Prize and The National Open Art prize. She studied Fashion Styling and photography at the University of Arts London and in 2015 co-foundered 104 Duke Street Studios an Artist studio gallery space in Liverpool city centre.
