About The Artwork
This exploration of materials is of particular interest to me as it involves experimenting with fabric dye on silk, cotton gauze and silk organza. I used a discarded vinyl record for support, which I wrapped in soft cotton. I then sewed separate textile formations onto the support, making them communicate with each other and find a union. They become one: a beautiful planet of love, soft, ethereal, cloud-like. Three-dimensional sewing adds volume to this composition. The back is equipped with a chain from a vintage necklace. Three tiny beads finish it on a thread braid.
