This painting gave name to the series of works “Weekend”. Sudden heavy snow in November turned an ordinary grey autumn day into almost a fairytale surrealistic experience… If you look carefully you will notice that this artwork is closely related to the “No Name” work from the same series.

About The Artwork

In the artwork "Weekend," Alexander Levich presents a tranquil winter scene, where the outlines of a park café emerge through a cascade of snowflakes. This large canvas delicately conveys the stillness of a shared experience, isolated from the world's flurry. The palette of soft blues and greys paints a picture of a landscape engulfed in a November snowstorm, with each brushstroke contributing to the overall impression of peaceful seclusion. Levich's artistry lies in his ability to render the scene with a sense of warmth that belies the cold environment. The painting invites introspection, echoing Levich's artistic statement about art being a medium for inner dialogue and discovery. It is not just a visual journey, but a pathway to personal reflection.

What is the most important thing in life? It's not the external surroundings but our inner world. Painting serves as the key that unlocks this realm. By following this path, one learns not just to look, but to truly SEE. Through my art, I delve into profound content. Painting becomes a medium of communication, a canvas for thoughts. The questions are always deeper than the answers, and the answers are discoveries we make within ourselves. My paintings serve as guides, leading you along the pathways of your own thoughts. I aim to offer you the joy of connecting with your inner world, the luxury of harmony and solitude in communication with yourself. I was born in 1963 in Kyiv, Ukraine, and in 1987, I graduated from the painting faculty of the Kyiv Art Academy, under the guidance of Professor A.M. Lopukhov. Since 1990, I have been a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. As a professional artist with over 30 years of experience, my artistic journey can be divided into two main periods. The first period, which spanned over 20 years after my graduation, can be described as "Metarealism." The second period, which I refer to as my "return to realism," began around 2010, you may explore my artworks from both periods showcased here. If you would like to delve deeper into my portfolio, view additional paintings beyond those displayed on this website, or if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me directly via email at a.levich@protonmail.com. You are also warmly welcome to visit my studio in Kyiv. Thank you sincerely for your interest.
