Vanavasa Painting

During the time of Covid everyone suffered alot in the world, in India, we spend our boring daily life by watching Ramayana in Doordarshan channel on our television. After watching the whole story of Ramayana,I got inspired from it. The eternal love between Ram and Sita is speechless. From the days of lockdown I always thought to do a work on this topic.so I did it. Ram is described to have undertaken a period of vanvasa for 14 years in the forest of panchavati, accompanied by his wife Sita and younger brother lakshamana. This was invoked by Kaikeyi as one of her two boons from her husband, King dashratha desiring her son Bharata to successor the to the throne of Ayodhya. I want people to know the meaning of this painting that simplicity is one of the strongest and most attractive thing in human . Ram, who is the son of a king dashratha go the vanvasa and lived a simple life with his wife and brother . Inspite of having a big kingdom Sita choose to go with his husband to live in the vanvasa I want my viewers to feel the eternal love between ram Sita , the simplicity they lived where No facilities areita available. They wear simple dresses of orange colours they didn't wore any jewelleries .n I choose medium as an oil colours. I choose this medium because for me it is easy to blend colours and for adding imposto technique. And it also looks great and a shiny finish . The main subject matter is the two figure of Rama and Sita and the other subject is a small deer looking at the Ram and sita. Ram is trying to help sita in crossing the river through holding her hand. I used an Indian style in this painting and I also used impasto techniques in this painting by adding texture of green . Hope you will like it .
