About The Artwork
Osmose by Pat dumez (2021) 60x40x2 cm Bust portrait of a woman with her dog in her arms, a small bulldog. They stand facing us. Heads against head, their features are painted in a light dark atmosphere, a gradient of midnight blue, purple and white, the brush lines are free. Their faces contrast with the background and the dress which have the same graphic forms, kind of rhombuses filled with colors and shaded spots (yellow orange for the background and pinkish red for the dress). Reciprocal influence, interpenetration: An osmosis has occurred between the dog and the girl, the wallpaper and the dress. All my paintings have on the back of the canvas: Date, title and signature
