I love art and Shakespeare, so I melded the two into an abstract version of a theatre, audience and all, for a playful interpretation. Working in oil pastel feels rich and give a luscious movement across the paper. And yes, I am a lover of Rothko.

I live in Cascais, Portugal. My paintings come from nowhere and everywhere, from nature, the human condition, sentimentality and dreams. I am driven by colour and its overwhelming, provocative power. I have had solo exhibits in Georgetown, Washington, DC., and Lisbon Portugal. I have had the benefit of the tutelage and friendship of American artist William Newman at the Corcoran School of Art.
