About The Artwork
This oil painting is based in an area of the Jeresy Pine Barrens near Millville N.J. The foreground is meant to hold the viewer back from going forward. It is hard for me to write about the reason behind the work. When I started this painting it was meant as a simple quick mood painting. It was put away unfinished for 9 years. One evening after locking up the store I went to the back studio pulled out the work and started painting. While concentrating on colors and brush strokes I had a premonition. A former student of mine all of a sudden came to mind and I could feel that he had violently passed away. The following morning I received a call that he had died with all the horrid details. But I knew in a way and I am "Sorry".
