About The Artwork
This painting is my interpretation of the duality of human soul, the good or evil nature that exists within every human being. The concept of dualism as popularly depicted through yin and yang is the product of the mind where we essentially split or divide life into right or wrong, good or bad, pretty or ugly, holy or sinful, love or hate and so on and so forth. Ultimately what defines us is the way we behave and the choices we make in our journey of life. My immense fascination for Tchaikovsky's 'Swan Lake' has dictated the choice of my subject for the composition. The timeless story of the lovely swan princess Odette and the evil Odile was playing in my subconscious and while painting the intricate feathers of the elegant swans, I was remembering the beautiful ballerinas adorned in soft layers of tulle! This is an original watercolor painting on Arches 140 lb. cold press paper. It comes signed on the front bottom corner. Unframed painting size: 16 x 20 in.
