About The Artwork
'Self Restraint' acrylic on canvas, is a double portrait of shibari artist and good friend Skinny Redhead. The mirror of self shows her sense of self as a performer and as a human being. She uses a traditionally dom/sub practice involving two people with a very ritualised relationship to practice self suspension which mean she embodies both roles and turns the traditional powerplay in on her self in a show of strength and acrobatic skill.
