I felt tense all day and when I started painting this picture too. But I wanted to bring pure expression into the picture without compression, so I asked myself, "what is tension?" let go of all thoughts and left the studio. Soon came: "this is the potential". Why? The tension shows where I am shackled, and therefore there is hidden my strength. When I realized this I felt deep relaxation and calm and then continued to paint again. Tension has potential.
