About The Artwork
Bringing the spatial simplicity of what might be perceived as background to the fore, whilst allowing specific forms to float almost incidentally out of frame, the painting seeks not so much to capture anything as to set something free. Fluid acrylic paint washes over and envelops more defined forms, revealing thick, self-levelled textures and underlying layers. Why pink?...why not? It was the first thing that entered my head. Painted using high quality Golden Acrylic paints and texture mediums on heavyweight (15 oz) cotton duck canvas and bespoke box-profile stretcher bars and cross-bars. It has been finished with an acrylic isolation coat followed by a removable, semi-gloss, solvent acrylic varnish and appears unframed with wrap-around paint edges.
