Nadine is a nickname for Alanis Morissette, who has a unique and strong storytelling type of songwriting. I later discovered that she is a buddhist and teacher, so along with my love for her music, I created a portrait that also celebrated her spirituality, adding polyatomic solids and a tiny owl wearing a buddhist hat. There is something about her all-knowing presence and old soul that inspired me to paint her amidst the stars, gazing at the audience with a kind, growing smile.
