About The Artwork

In this captivating artwork titled "Ear," the artist explores a dichotomy of elements, skillfully blending acrylic on canvas with the added texture of collage. The canvas is purposefully divided into two halves – a deep, enigmatic black at the bottom and a radiant, light-filled expanse at the top. The upper portion showcases a palette of soothing cream and beige tones, meticulously applied to form organic shapes that gracefully assemble into a composition reminiscent of a grain ear. The artist's adept use of color not only accentuates the visual contrast between the two halves but also establishes a sense of harmony through the subtle gradations in the warm hues. The addition of collage elements introduces a tactile dimension, breaking away from the flatness of the painted surface and inviting viewers to engage both visually and texturally with the piece. "Ear" encourages contemplation on the interplay of light and dark, the organic forms inspired by nature, and the overall unity found within these seemingly opposing elements. This artwork goes beyond mere visual aesthetics, offering a thought-provoking exploration of the interconnectedness inherent in the natural world.

I am a graduate of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. My work is "bipolar": figurative and abstract. Both ways complement each other and inspire. Although seemingly they seem to be completely separate, they "nourish" my work, not letting myself burn out. Their common part is color and a reference to dreams, in which nothing is impossible, and parallel worlds permeate. My art is my way to enjoy the world, its beauty and share it with people. In my abstract works, I consider each painting as a separate world, a separate reality that I discover and explore. I like to use forms and shapes associated with nature. Forms similar to leaves, boats, stones, scales. Contours of known reality in an unknown world. I observe their interactions among forms and colors. They float in them and define this world, organize, or allow this world to define it. https://issuu.com/arthabens/docs/biennial.ed.xii
