About The Artwork
His Holiness The Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu — they’re two of the world’s best-known spiritual leaders, and dear, dear friends as well. It’s a friendship rooted in a shared sense of joy, and of purpose: to foster and spread that joy around the globe, in order to address and counter its despair. This painting was based on a photograph taken at a symposium illuminating a truth that has become increasingly important to grasp in an era that promises fulfilment in nearly everything outside of ourselves, the Dalai Lama and Archbishop offer eight pillars of joy – inner values, or qualities of the mind and qualities of the heart – that provide a roadmap for navigating life’s inevitable suffering, and unlocking the lasting happiness we so often long for.

Peter Sold his shares in the agency in 2000 to focus on his passion - Art. Peter creates original and compelling works of art and is inspired by the beauty of the human form, human emotion and the human spirit. His preferred mediums are oil, charcoal and pencil.
