Indian Eye Painting

Physical texture, relatively smooth; the canvas is less than an inch in depth, about .7 inches. Hanging hardware is included. Excellent quality of paint, oil, acrylic, and Posca. This work was begun in 2012 as part of a series of five paintings the same size. Each of them evolved in different color schemes and styles, starting from a gestural study. This one, however, took a lot longer to complete! I hope the viewer will feel taken into this painting. There is a meditative but dynamic energy. It has an American Indian inspiration. I chose the medium, subject matter, and style intuitively. As the painting evolved over the years, I added a new medium for me, Posca markers. This delineated and added contrast to the colors and forms.
