This was inspired by a man I met on an overnight train journey to Bangkok. He'd led a very interesting life but was completely devoid of any emotion and had no empathy. By the time we went our separate ways he'd filled me with a quiet dread and loathing - something I hope comes across in this piece.

I was born in Wales, studied in Nottingham and now live and work in Folkestone. I've finally given in to the fact that I need to make art. I quit my day job to start painting in January 2013. I'm also a beekeeper. I usually work in acrylic using just 5 colours and a hairdryer. I paint, draw and etch faces mostly, but plan to do more wildlife pieces in the future.
