About The Artwork
I love the colors and shapes I find in ghost town ruins. This is a well-photographed spot in the San Juan Mountains on County Road 31, just south of Red Mountain Pass off Highway 550 in Colorado. I staked this location out for a couple of weeks hoping for just the right amount of autumn glow from the aspen trees to be illuminated by the rising sun. The first snow had just fallen in the night before I made the color sketch that led to this rendering. The morning cold wasn't all that sent shivers shooting through my fingers.

I'm a retired communication professor pursuing a new avocation as a watercolor artist.
