About The Artwork
#13 of Everything Everywhere: a series of 20 inspired by the overwhelming variety of stimuli in daily life. This tendency toward taking in so much has been exacerbated by the internet. And yet, there is filtering. I use my sketchbooks to collect and work out ideas. I draw the design on illustration board, working out the segments as I go, hoping to enter the flow of working. The paint style has been influenced by Indian miniature painting. I love laying out the gouache and seeing the colors build.
