According to myth, Europa was seduced by Zeus in the form of a white bull. Following a painting by Veronese that implies that it was a sensuous experience for both parties, this abstraction removes the semi clothed woman from view altogether and suggests her own pleasure. This painting is part of continuing work that plays with the paradoxical practice of visualising the impossible which painting reveals. I studied painting in the 1960s, gained my M.A. in 1995 and completed my M.Phil thesis in 2000. My work has been exhibited since early solo shows in 1970s. Some Solo shows have been titled as “Divertimenta” and “Elusion and Revision”. Most recent solo show was entitled False Doors and Timeless Thresholds. I reach wider viewers through the Axis website and online exhibitions. I live near Louth in Lincolnshire.
