About The Artwork

"Dirompente" (Disruptive) is a captivating artwork created with red spray paint. Across the surface, there is a thin layer of various spatulas of stucco applied from top to bottom. The red color dominates the composition, acting as a layer of reality that triumphs over the material and holds the ideas represented by the stucco beyond our world. The red spray paint is applied with boldness and intensity, completely covering the stucco. It exudes a commanding presence, overpowering the material and asserting its dominance. The red color represents a transcendent force that defies our understanding and comprehension. In this artwork, the material succumbs to the overwhelming power of the color. The spatulas of stucco, subdued beneath the red, become subordinate and powerless. They serve as a reminder of human imperfection, while the color asserts its supremacy. "Dirompente" challenges us to contemplate the complexity of ideas and the limits of our understanding. The artwork suggests that the perfect essence embodied by the stucco remains elusive and incomprehensible to us imperfect beings. The triumph of the red color emphasizes the inherent limitations of our perception and invites us to reflect on the imperfections of our world. Through its bold use of red spray paint, "Dirompente" invites viewers to consider the power of color and the mysteries it unveils. It urges us to acknowledge our limited grasp of perfection and embrace the unknown, as the material succumbs to the supremacy of the color that transcends our understanding.

My name is Stefano, born in 2000, and this is a brief summary of my artistic journey. I immersed myself in the magnificent world of contemporary art during the second half of my high school studies, falling in love with Van Gogh's post-impressionist paintings accompanied by the captivating literature of Pascoli's decadentism. After graduating from a scientific high school, I attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Brera (Milan) where I obtained my degree in painting. My early works, dating back to 2016/2017, were unique compositions that encompassed the "Divine Triad of the Arts," namely painting, poetry, and music. After pursuing this project for three years and producing a significant body of work (approximately 40 pieces), I decided to change direction and explore the capabilities of materials in all their aspects, giving them the opportunity to narrate themselves to our naive gaze, attributing to them a meaning beyond their mere objecthood. It is from this point that the series of works titled "The Material of the Gaze" began, a conceptual attempt to tell the story of Plato's hyperuranion and an intrinsic invitation to go beyond the normality of sight. It is an invitation to truly See, delving deep into the soul of things, beyond their mere craftsmanship or color. With this technique, I embarked on a true search for my identity and style, and I believe that as I progress in my studies, this approach will accompany me in every aspect of my artistic evolution.
