About The Artwork
A red-headed figure constructed from puddles of mostly-transparent colored light silently keens with empty eyes and a zombie-like tortured expression flanked on either side by chains. The body sways in a watery velvety dress as a dangerously-sharp, weighty, wobbly crown add tension to the scene. Painted with watercolor and acrylic on paper in a loose, expressive style using dramatic high-contrast and deep rich colors. This piece was inspired by a life drawing session with Drawing Cabaret Couture and Dancer/Model, Janet Mayer.
