Climb a Ladder Painting

I am a Portland based multidisciplinary artist and musician driven by a relentless desire to create potent, symbolically charged imagery, objects and sounds. I approach art-making in a very spontaneous way, allowing my subconscious mind to direct the action as much as is possible. The guiding principle for me has always been the elucidation of hidden aspects of reality- the fleeting scenes between pulses of light; the mysterious undercurrents that sway perception and influence our thoughts and actions; the nature of time and what it means to be alive. My obsession with making things has been one of few constants throughout my life and as I enter middle age I find that my own personal art history informs my new work in unexpected and delightful ways. I show my work at various locations around Portland. My work is in several public and innumerable private collections throughout the world.
