About The Artwork
A friend of mine asked me to paint a portrait of him and his girlfriend. During the latter stages of completing the piece they separated. I immediately painted her out of the piece in a gesture of cathartic empathy. They still remain friends and she is still very much part of his life and I hope the ghostly image of her conveys that as much as his pose conveys his wistful sadness.

I was born in Wales, studied in Nottingham and now live and work in Folkestone. I've finally given in to the fact that I need to make art. I quit my day job to start painting in January 2013. I'm also a beekeeper. I usually work in acrylic using just 5 colours and a hairdryer. I paint, draw and etch faces mostly, but plan to do more wildlife pieces in the future.
