About The Artwork

I've done a few gigs in musical theater before and getting ready for the show was always quite nerve wracking for some, motivating for others, and energizing for those true, true performers. Often, men and women change into costume and get into character together if there is not enough physical space in the theater for separate changing rooms. In such cases, women are usually much more interesting, noisy and animated than the men although I'm not sure why. This painting is more moody than animated but does capture, to my mind, the tension or anxiety every performer feels before stepping on stage.

Through his masterful brushstrokes and intricate compositions, he captures the essence of fleeting moments and translates them onto canvas and paper. His work beckons viewers to step into his world, where the ordinary becomes extraordinary, inviting contemplation and connection. When he's not in the studio, Roger actively supports non-profit ventures such as Meals on Wheels of Central Texas, and the Arizona Consortium for the Arts, the latter of which he is a founding member. He also co-manages a retail shop on Facebook called "Nemo's Place" with his partner, Joseph. Roger's works have been purchased by collectors all over the globe.
