Watching the soft, morning light, during our early morning dip in our "second hand, lockdown, hot tub" was one of the loveliest things we did as a family during the summer of 2020. I love the shape and colours of the hot tub, water and trees, set again the backdrop of the garden and I made several drawings and paintings.

Over time I have noticed that regardless of imagery, my work naturally holds feelings of melancholy, pathos, or a dreamy state. There is a sense of something ending or softening, a dying light, the end of a summers day or something slipping out of reach. I have an interest in finding imagery through a random, sometimes destructive process. I search for hints and suggestions which emerge through this often playful technique.
