About The Artwork

...you are expecting the storm, the thunder. Seems that just right in a moment this hysterical contrast of darkness and lightness will be broken by thunder flash. So heavy that almost bleeding with rain clouds are suppressing the tiny spot of light slowly and confidently. Power of nature – undefided by a human. This set of works is an experiment with human perception ability. This research is dedicated to how to express weightlessness and heavy masses? What can make a human to feel an open space or pressure of bordered space. I was working on a question, when a viewer starts to associate himself with something unmeasured and borderless? How to show the energy of movement and static? Since which moment a human eye starts to define among colors of paint concrete objects, landscapes? At the same time, since which moment human mind starts to recognize painted as a part of the world it get used to or associate himself with this story illustrated on the canvas.

Artist ( Юлия Потоцкая ) with Belorussian origins, living and creating in France. In my works I try not to put pressure on the viewer with obvious icons, because I want to wake up in a human his own contradictory, ambiguous thoughts and feelings. I do not impose ideas - I'm hinting towards the possibilities of perception. Apart of schools, coarses, practice in art and design, I have obtained two master degree in Computer Science and Applicational Mathematics. It helps me to look at the fine arts as a researcher. My methods evolve from the techniques of composition and colour to experiments with whole concepts. My goal is to awaken the conflicting feelings of the viewer, to encourage the viewer to ask questions when he see my picture and to try to catch the author's motivation.
