I am not interested in painting and drawing itself, but in the interaction between colors. Painting and drawing are the means that give me the possibilities, but they are not the center of interest. I give the example of an auto mechanic who improves his knowledge and his technique so that the formula one car is faster. The themes that I use will be chosen as long as they give me the greatest possible dynamics in this sense and also have conceptual coherence as a whole. In the case of packaging and logos and the use of colored pencils as a medium I am absolutely focused on colour. The forms only give me the possibility to continue investigating and experimenting in this sense. The daily experience with open markets, the food industry and the effect of this on lives works as a concept, in the background, without forgetting that I am a designer by profession. Logos and applied color from and for different industries is my field. So the question I ask myself is how has printed color affected us from the consumption of packaged products? Or what has been the role of advertising iconography in our individual and collective unconscious? The studies behind these products are so precise that if we can be sure of anything, it is their efficiency and effectiveness on the brain and human behavior, and this is where the psychology of color plays a determining role. We can add to the phrase by Josef Albers that "all color is relative" also that all color is interactive, but also that the physical experience of color is not objective. Thus we can go through the extensive documentation about the power of the chromatic from Newton's nec variat lux fracta colerem to Goethe's ¨the essence of color is light¨, passing through Schopenhauer's On vision and colors, The guide Syme, the Ostwald and Munsell system without forgetting contributions such as the works of Herbert Bayer and the aforementioned Josef Albers.

Costa Rica
I am a Costa Rican artist interested mainly in color, in its power over the human mind and heart and in the determining role it has in industry and therefore in society. I study color scales in depth from consumer products to apply their values to art and create fictional merchandise based on the original from there.
