About The Artwork
I wanted to create a cosmogonic mythological figure. The "Cosmic Snail" which wanders in deep space giving life to galaxies, stars and planets with its luminescent slime: a guiding spirit towards new possible worlds, towards a new humanity, towards the utopia of a new humanism. The Cosmic Snail as the personification of the Golden spiral, the Divine Proportion which in the Renaissance established the canons of beauty and harmony of forms in art and nature. The same law regulates the swirling motion of galaxies and the spirals of the shell of a small snail. It is a digital print on Forex

I was born in 1952. My body of work ranges from painting, sculpture and installations. I strive to seek new tools, techniques and materials to better express my vision. My research crosses the fields of painting, sculpture, installation and applied art, for a global vision of making art. I practice the contamination and dialogue between the different forms of expression, giving life to collaborations with artists from other disciplines. In 2020 the approach to digital art with “Grand Tour”, a multimedia exhibition with digital elaborations and a video, at Lake Como Landscape Museum, in Tremezzo, Italy In January 2021 I created the online virtual exhibition "Breath", an autobiographical reflection on the Covid experience on my website www.emilioalberti.it.
