The work shows a bird that died from plastic waste and is an interactive mosaic object image. It is made up of many tiny 6.6cm x 5cm - 1.65cm - 1.25cm pixels. However, these pixels were not generated digitally, but cut from packaging material, i.e. the remnants of an immense excess that would otherwise be disposed of by the dual system. These tailored image points address the handling and use of valuable raw materials in a consumer society - but at the same time their transformation and upcycling into an art object. From a formal point of view, the works appear abstract, “pixelated” and “without” content. What is actually depicted only becomes visible by squinting the eyes, or by “looking near or far”.
