About The Artwork

This work was created through the exploration of texture, pattern, and form. It draws reference from natural and botanical forms, and it is intended to provoke the desire of the viewer to engage with it and touch the surface. The hollow inner cavity beckons to the viewer to explore, much like a siren's song. However, it won't give up its secrets so easily and provokes feelings of mystery and curiosity. This work is entirely custom dyed and hand constructed by the artist out of nylon fabric and wool roving. Each nodule is hand gathered and stitched to create the surface.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

My work seeks to communicate through the use of a collectively shared haptic vocabulary. The visual and tactile phenomena of color, pattern, and texture possess the ability to cross sociological boundaries—which is in direct contrast to the many limitations of verbal communication. By using soft materials and textile techniques, I tap into universal memories via our common experience of touch. Meaning is expressed through the careful consideration of materials and the inventive processes used to manipulate them. Where verbal language fails, touch has a commonality that is sincere. My goal is to have the viewer feel as if they are engaging in an empathetic conversation—without a single word being spoken.
